Fiber discs CS 570 – grinding wheels for picking up a large amount of material made of stainless steel, steel, non-ferrous metals, and aluminum
Grinding metals is a particular challenge for abrasives. Metals are durable materials with high hardness. Especially stainless steel and high-alloy steels place the highest demands here. The CS 570 fiber discs respond to these requirements thanks to the tough, high-strength zirconium alumina grain and the high-strength synthetic resin on a fiber backing. The CS 570 fiber disc has special properties for machining stainless steel and aluminum:
Reduction of the grinding temperature thanks to the Multi bond
Full embankment
Zirconium aluminum oxide grain
self-sharpening effect of zirconium alumina grain
The zirconium alumina used in Klingspor’s CS 570 fiber discs is a synthetically produced, hard, and very durable abrasive grain with a crystalline structure. The sharp edges of natural abrasives made of quartz, emery, and garnet become round after a certain grinding time, which reduces the sanding performance. Synthetically produced zirconium alumina reacts differently. Pieces of the crystalline structure break off, leaving new sharp edges. The result is an even sanding pattern with the same time stable performance and long service life.
